SENIOR ACCOUNTANT-Town of Addison
Under general supervision of the Accounting Manager to perform accounting tasks of moderate difficulty in support of the activities and operations of the Town of Addison. The position will be responsible for the implementation and administration of reconciliation functions, as well as continuing to improve the internal controls. The incumbent will be expected to identify problem areas; decide what information must be collected before any action can be taken to resolve the problem; and recommend a solution to the supervisor, who will set deadlines and priorities.

Annual salary range: $61,881.30-$77,367.94

Controller - City of Murphy
Under management of the Finance Director, responsible for coordinating the financial reporting functions of all funds within the City including but not limited to the General Fund, Utility Fund, Municipal Court Fund, Municipal Development Fund, Community Development Fund, Capital Funds, and Impact Fee Fund. Position is also responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable and payroll functions of the City, including supervision of one employee.

Senior Accounting Analyst
Company Overview

The company provides the expertise, scalability, compliance and tiered reporting to enable lenders, servicers, investors and GSEs to reduce operational and reputational risk while promoting neighborhood stabilization.

Job Summary
The Senior Accounting Analyst should have a wide range of accounting experience and be able to perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial analysis and general ledger functions. With minimal supervision, the Senior Accounting Analyst should be able to create client billings, prepare financial reports, and document departmental processes. The Senior Accounting Analyst should be able identify and implement improvements to optimize reporting processes and should be able to complete their tasks timely, accurately, and efficiently.

Essential Functions/Performance Dimensions and Tasks
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

Essential Functions
  • Prepare standard, complex and ad-hoc reports for review, trending/forecasting and analysis of data collected
  • Participate in month end close process by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Prepare financial and analytical reports for distribution to the Business Owners
  • Participate in quarterly forecast and annual budget updates
  • Perform reconciliation of VA reimbursement invoices and act as SME on AI SI rejections system
  • Complete and reconcile client billings
  • Act as departmental SME for monthly expense reporting process
  • Participate and provide analytical and operational support in new business initiatives
  • Escalate issues to proper department or supervisor for resolution or reassignment
  • Research solutions when necessary to complete the task
  • Approve items in scope of authority for completion, enhanced from Analyst
  • Complete special projects
Quality Assurance
  • Create new and maintain existing customized reporting, templates, models, and metrics
  • Document departmental processes and insure that repository of processes is updated and accurate
  • Review vendor's, client's and company's effectiveness for performance and improvement opportunities
  • Communicate findings to management, clients or vendors as needed
  • Conduct periodic process reviews to identify efficiencies needed for improving departmental effectiveness
  • User Acceptance Testing, as necessary Service Excellence
  • Respond to client/vendor/customer requests or questions via phone, email, portal or fax
  • Partner with end-users to develop and maintain a good understanding of business objectives, business questions, and services that need to be supported

  • Provide support and train internal staff within the Accounting Department
  • Train internal and external customers on internal processes and work collaboratively with the Accounting Department to increase productivity, promote cost savings, and fosters the adoption of the industry best practices

Job Specifications
1. License: Professional Certification (CPA) Preferred
2. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, Master's Degree preferred
3. Experience: Five to seven years of accounting experience with demonstrated experience in balance sheet analysis, month end close, variance analysis, reporting, and billing.
4. Required Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer service; structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)

VRM Function Required Functional Knowledge
Accounting Along with principles of corporate accounting and financial analysis advanced Excel, Access and PowerPoint, principles of database management, successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of preparing reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting and client billing; payment preparation of disbursements for various vendors; ability to implement and document a procedure in relation to a process; ability to work in collaboration internal/external customers to make recommendations for change for which the outcomes will help increase productivity, reduce costs, improve communication, and/or to improve performance; appropriate validation of process to keep Company compliant with contractual obligations, terms and conditions; partner with end-users to develop knowledge of the business and how they operate to support as needed; intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint, working experience of ERP system(s), MAS500 is a plus.
